11-DAY WILD SAVANNAH – FLY PACKAGE

The Wild Savannah fly package starts in Entebbe, where you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel/guesthouse in Entebbe. If time permits, you may opt to visit the famous Entebbe Botanical Gardens. Established in 1902, the gardens' fine collection of plants spans the country's tropical, sub-tropical and temperate zones. The gardens are also home to many different bird species, offering an excellent introduction to Uganda’s diverse birdlife. We commonly spot vervet and black-and-white colobus monkeys here, too.

Breakfast in the morning and relax at the hotel. Early lunch before transfer to Entebbe airport for your afternoon scheduled flight with Aerolink at 12:30 to Kidepo National Park. The lodge will pick you up from the airfield transfer you to Apoka for check in and get a small bite before we set off for an evening game drive by the lodge vehicle or choose to do a nature walk.

Breakfast and take a visit to the community in the morning or do it in the afternoon plus an evening game drive.

Breakfast and relax at the lodge, early lunch before transfer to the airfield for your afternoon scheduled flight with Aerolink to Murchison Falls National Park/Pakuba airfield where you will be picked by the lodge car and continue for an evening game drive in the northern bank of river Nile to look out for the elephants, lions, Cape buffalos, Rothschild giraffes, hartebeest, oribi, bushbuck, Bohor reedbucks, spotted hyena and if lucky you could even spot the leopard. We will thereafter cross the Nile by ferry to our lodge for dinner.

After breakfast, we will take a 4–5 hours boat cruise to the Victoria Nile Delta the home to the rare wetland birds including shoebill and papyrus endemic species. It is approx. 20km voyage downstream from Paraa. Return for lunch and in the afternoon we take a boat cruise upstream to the “bottom of the falls”.

Enjoy an early breakfast at the lodge and drive to Kibale Forest; you will take pleasure in the gorgeous scenery of this countryside which makes the journey more exciting. Have your lunch en route in Fort-portal town and continue as you will have great views of the Rwenzori ranges. Check in at your lodge and free afternoon/evening.

Early in the morning, we make our way into the jungle to search for Chimpanzees. Watching our closest relatives in their natural habitat in Kibale Forest is a fantastic experience. After lunch we leave Kibale Forest National Park and drive through Fort Portal, and then along the mystical Rwenzori Mountains towards Queen Elizabeth National Park. As we reach the park boundaries, we may see some animals along the way.

In the early morning we do a game drive in Kasenyi area, within Queen Elisabeth NP, on a look out for the lions, buffalos, elephants, and large numbers of Uganda Kobs and other antelopes. After we will go back to the lodge for breakfast, and relax until lunch time. In the afternoon we will go for a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel (approx. 2 hours), to look out for the hippos, great herds of buffalos, and lots of water birds.

We leave the lodge early in the morning with our packed lunch and drive to Bwindi, the southern sector of the park with views of Kigezi Highlands. Lunch enroute.

After breakfast, transfer for the morning briefing before enjoying the highlight of the trip- Gorilla trekking, which may last the entire day. We trek through the rainforest and bamboo covered slopes, accompanied by a guide and trackers, in search of a mountain gorilla family. The walking can sometimes be tough and long, but when you catch a glimpse of the magnificent silverback, any discomforts will be quickly forgotten. When sighted, visitors will be guided to within 6 metres from the gorillas, sit around them for a whole hour while gazing into their big round eyes. Return to the guesthouse for refreshing and free evening to relax.
